Peacock Pose (Mayurasana)
HOW TO DO IT
  1. 01Kneel and place the hands on the floor with the fingers pointing back toward the feet.
  2. 02Bend the elbows and draw them together into the belly, below the navel.
  3. 03Lean the chest forward over the hands and extend the legs straight back.
  4. 04Shift the weight forward until the feet float off the floor.
  5. 05Balance with the body in one long horizontal line.
COACHING CUES
  1. 01Fingers point back toward the feet.
  2. 02Elbows stacked into the belly.
  3. 03Lean the chest forward to lift the feet.
COMMON MISTAKES
  1. 01Keeping the weight back — the feet only lift when the chest leans well forward.
  2. 02Letting the elbows slide apart — keep them glued together into the core.
  3. 03Forcing the wrists cold — warm them thoroughly first.
