Yogi Athletics coaches strength, conditioning, mobility and yoga. Exercise carries risk, and everything here assumes you are training a healthy body with your doctor's blessing. This page sets out what our coaching is — and, just as importantly, what it is not.
Not medical advice. The coaching, assessments, training plans, exercise library, tools, articles and any other content provided by Yogi Athletics are for general educational and informational purposes only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or physiotherapy, and they are not a substitute for the judgement of a licensed physician or other qualified health professional.
Talk to your doctor before you start
Consult a physician or qualified healthcare provider before beginning any exercise programme, making changes to how you train, or acting on anything you read or are told here — especially if you are pregnant or postpartum, recovering from surgery, injury or illness, managing a chronic condition (heart, blood pressure, metabolic, joint or otherwise), or have any reason to believe exercise may not be safe for you. If your doctor advises against a particular activity, follow your doctor.
You assume the risk of training
Physical exercise — including weight training, conditioning, mobility work and yoga — carries an inherent risk of injury, and in rare cases serious injury or death. By using our coaching, plans or content, you acknowledge and voluntarily accept those risks. You are responsible for deciding whether any exercise, load or progression is appropriate for you on any given day, and for training within your own limits.
Online coaching has limits
Yogi Athletics coaches remotely, over video and written plans. Your coach is not physically present, cannot spot you, cannot inspect your equipment or environment, and relies on the information you provide. You are solely responsible for:
- a safe training space, and equipment that is suitable, maintained and correctly set up;
- disclosing your health history, injuries, symptoms and limitations honestly and keeping us updated as they change;
- using proper form, appropriate loads, and warming up and cooling down; and
- stopping and seeking help when you need to.
Stop if something is wrong
Stop exercising immediately and seek medical attention if you experience chest pain, dizziness, faintness, shortness of breath, sharp or unusual pain, or any symptom that concerns you. Pain is information, not something to push through. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number right away — do not wait to contact us.
No guaranteed results
Fitness, strength, mobility and body-composition outcomes depend on factors outside our control — your effort, consistency, recovery, sleep, nutrition, genetics, medical history and more. Any timelines, examples or client stories describe what has been possible, not what is promised. We make no guarantee that you will achieve any particular result.
Nutrition and supplements
Yogi Athletics is not a licensed dietitian, nutritionist or medical provider. Any nutrition, hydration, recovery or supplement information is general and educational only. Speak with a registered dietitian or your physician before changing your diet or taking any supplement, particularly if you have a medical condition or take medication.
Yoga and mobility
Yoga, stretching and mobility drills can place demand on joints and connective tissue. Move within a comfortable range, never force a position, and modify or skip anything that does not feel right for your body. Flexibility work is not a substitute for care of a diagnosed injury.
Third-party content and links
Our site may reference or link to third-party products, studies, videos or websites. Those are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement. We are not responsible for the accuracy, safety or content of anything we do not control.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yogi Athletics and Shashank Sharma are not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising out of or in connection with your use of our coaching, plans, library, tools or content, or your participation in any activity described here. You use everything provided by Yogi Athletics at your own risk. This disclaimer forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.
