HOW TO DO IT
  1. 01From a bound side-angle pose, walk the back foot in toward the front.
  2. 02Keep the bind and shift the weight onto the front foot as you stand up.
  3. 03Draw the bound leg's knee up toward the chest, staying tall.
  4. 04Slowly straighten the bound leg out to the side.
  5. 05Find a steady gaze and lift through the crown as the leg extends.
COACHING CUES
  1. 01Stand fully before you extend the leg.
  2. 02Keep lifting the spine tall through the bind.
  3. 03Straighten the leg only as far as balance holds.
COMMON MISTAKES
  1. 01Trying to straighten the leg before standing tall — rise fully first.
  2. 02Collapsing the chest into the bind — keep the spine long and lifted.
  3. 03Rushing the extension and losing balance — build it slowly.

Note: Reference material, not a prescription. Load, volume and whether this movement suits you at all depends on your assessment — if something hurts, stop and get it looked at.
